    Booking Agent Cut?

    Hello!

    What do you think would be a reasonable percentage to offer a booking agent if they took care of certain contracts without having to do any marketing and very limited organzing for that particular gig (for troupe work)

    Someone suggested 15% of the total budget for the dancers. I think that sounds like a lot, considering the agent would be making close to as much as the dancer would.

    Am I wrong?? ..c::

    I think the entertainment industry standard is 20% for agents.

    Yes, I would have to agree with Lauren. Several years ago, I was heavily involved in the entertainment industry and my agent got anywhere between 15 to 20 percent.

    I take 15% when I book my dancers for a gig. But I usually only book out one dancer at a time (otherwise, I do the gig with them, and then I don't take a "cut"). So that still leaves the dancer with 85%.

    when i have negotiated gigs that i then hand down to my advanced students, they usually end up with 150-200E, and i usually get 25E on top of that (that we have also charged the customer)...

    i deal with all the practical details and contact witht he customer, and they get an email from me when to show up where etc.... i also do a follow up (asking customer if they were happy). student receives all the money and afterwards hands me my share, or customer pays my share as a deposti, and student gets rest cash in hand at gig.

    Yep, 15-20% with 20% being on the top end of the scale.
