Thread: Need Advice: Will be calling for an audition-Update

There is a restaurant near me that has gotten new owners, they redesigned the place and now want a rotation of dancers. It would be a once a month gig with a possibility of more when they have functions in there back rooms. A friend of mine, is one of the dancers. The owner is looking for a couple more and my friend has suggested me. She will be giving me the owner's number so I can ask for an audition. She has told me what the pay is so I know I don't have to worry about that part. Whew!

When I call up asking for an audition what is the proper protocol? I want to make sure I am as professional as possible. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated as this will be the first time I will be calling for an audition.

So I auditioned......I got the gig!!! They will have a rotation of dancers so I will be dancing there about every 5 weeks. I am so excited!

I wish i could offer more advice but i've never done an audition over the phone. only in person or via email. That way they can see what i look like in costume, etc. Do you have time to go in person? If you do go in person, I would have a snapshot and a resume of some kind ready.

Oh oops, Yes I will be calling to set up an audition. I will be dancing for her. But I have never auditioned before for a restaurant (though I have danced at restaurants) so I wanted to know what the proper protocol is.

Seems fairly straight forward. I would just call and tell them how you got the information and ask if they are currently auditioning for more dancers. They will say yes and then you can set up a time. :o)

Oh , and if they are looking for any subs I know someone who might be interested. ;o)
