Thread: Booking dancers for grams

Anyone else do this? Do you charge a cut? Do you charge a lower amount for student grams?

Can you clarify what you mean by 'booking'? To me that is different that 'referring' in that a booker takes on the liability, nails down all the details, handles the contract, etc etc. Basically if anything goes wrng or the customer is unhappy in any way, the booker takes the heat. I refer out work all the time, but I mightily resist being a booker. For referrals, I don't charge.

i book my dancers .only mine.i charge a flat fee for booking.it is a small fee for my time ,phone, and yellow page ad that got the job.i have a small fee, because i require any dancer who wants to be booked, a certain amout of study a week.costumes , props all up to top quality, and that takes money too!

I don't book other dancers for grams, but I do some booking for some other performers (bands and such). My standard booking fee is 15% (that's if I don't do any marketing/pr work for that...that's a whole different ball game).
