Thread: Can i see your business cards?

I'm out of business cards (which I consider to be a VERY good thing!!). I'm wondering if it's time for an update to my cards.

I'd love to see what others have come up with. I do the design myself in photoshop & then upload to one of those business card printers online & order them. I usually get full color 2 sided (color on one side, black & white on the other) and then get larger postcards, as well...I've found restaurant folks like to take the big ones as souveniers, and I put them in birthday cards for parties, etc...

Will anyone share?

Oops I guess it's not fair for me to ask to see yours, but not share mine...here's my postcard...business card is essentially the same.

I'm working on a business card design now--sorry for the possible threadjack--but I would like to know which on-line business card/post card vendors you use--looking for recommendations because all of your cards look great!!!

I charge $65 to layout both front and back.

(And they don't all have to have a color fade on them, I noticed the samples I put up did lol )

If you leave things to me, I do tend to go for a simple is better approach. I like a customer to glance at the front of the card and get the important info: uncluttered image of service - ie dancer in this case - and name and website and phone number type stuff. I usually leave the details for the back of the card if possible.

If you don't leave things up to me, then all I ask is for as many details of what you want as you can offer up. I usually offer a few versions of a design before finalizing it; but constant re-do's are a time drainer. So more info up front usually helps avoid that.

In all the examples I posted, those are my pictures; so you would need to have the ok to use whatever image you want on the card from whoever took the photo (if it wasn't me).

And I like your cards Ozma!

I like the simple cards, too. And, I'm seeing that I need another photo shoot. Time to drag hubby out to practice his photo hobby again!

Ozma - I love your new card design. That color just "pops". My eye would definitely be drawn to yours in a stack of cards on a table.

Thanks, it helps that I have good images to work with when I started doing the cards (the first imagese were from a shoot I paid for but since then I've traded model time for photos with a rotating group of photographers in Harajuku every few months)

I tried finding some more, but I have a lot of stuff on my backup drive and some of these type jobs are not organized well since I give everything to the client. I found a few more, two are only mock ups though and one is my old-old biz card.

Leyla, I hate mine now, too. I can't wait to redesign!!! I REALLY need new, good, posed pics though. *sigh* finding the time is going to be the fun thing...

This is what I'm thinking for the front of mine. Its simple but I'm not sure if the solid background is working (photo background was awful).


I'm thinking about email/myspace/phone# on the back to keep it cleaner on the front.
