I ordered the magnet last night! It should be here in a 1-2 weeks - I'll take a picture of it on the van and post it here when in arrives. Thank you all again so much for your opinions and advice, I would have never gotten to the final result without you guys!

i was going to suggest you add capital letters in the site url. as in GalateaDancer.com
i donno, maybe it's just me but it's way easier for me to remember a url i see for a short instant, if i know the words that make it up instantly. sometimes urls are almost a sentence, which should be easy to remember but take a while to make out what are the words

I have the same reaction to the headless torso shots. If they have blurred, artistic filters or are in silhouette I can get past it sometimes. Acknowledging my bias there...I vote 2

For me - yes. Any torso without a head shot gives me the shudders for the most part. For me it just gets a little too "anonymous body" like even those shots the newsreels always show for either beaches/travel (headless bikinis walking about) or stories about weight (headless sweatsuits walking about). To each their own though :) Some folks really like them :)

Actually, I do. I think it reduces a woman to the functional role of baby-making machine - which is objectifying. In contrast, including her face in the shot makes you see her as an identifiable individual.

i dislike the torso pictures too. my ex-boyfriend once said that he thought most women are interesting only from neck down till top of thigh! .w.:

I think you guys are putting too much into the torso shots (pregnant or not). It just gets used in the wrong context too often I think.

That being said, I liked the final design you came up with.

sorry to chime in late -
but my reaction was exactly the same as the ones you got from the GP folks. I liked #4 for all of the same reasons.

my gut reactions *against* 1 & 2 were were pretty intense. I thought, omg, no, you don't want to put your pretty face (much less your sexy body!) on your CAR! what if some creepy person saw it in a parking lot and just decided to hang around until you came out so he could meet you in person? what if the creepy person in the next lane grabbed his cell phone and wanted to talk to you about a private show? I'm hoping the number goes to a voicemail account and isn't a number you'd automatically answer...

maybe I'm just extra extra cautious, but I'd rather err on the side of conservativeness than risk dealing with any creepyness (or, god forbid, danger).

back to #4 - think of your audience: who will be taking your classes or calling you to dance for a party? women. housewives. mothers. they might be intimidated by a sexy torso. they might worry about how appropriate it might be to hire you to dance for their husband's 40th birthday party or the family barbecue. that last image is intriguing, pretty, poetry in motion kind of stuff (and probably pretty boring to your run of the mill stalker).

I do really like the layout with the larger photo to the left. much better. I'm even ok with the skin - for some reason, the pose, the expression, it feels feminine and internal. it's lovely, but not come hither. but I still think if you can avoid skin and bra, that would be better.

New version is wonderful!

It's here, and I'm so very happy with how it came out. I couldn't wait to put it on the van!
