Thread: Eventective Sales Lead???

Anyone getting emails from these people? I don't remember ever signing up for their service, but today I got three emails from them, all saying there were different people wanting to book me for a job (kind of like the "leads" you get from Party Pop). The emails have that shady spam look to them (logo looks like it was scanned in, etc), but the "leads" have all sounded legit (a wedding and two birthday parties) so I don't know what to do. And since I never remember signing up for this site, I'm even more skeptical. You have to click on a link to respond to your "lead" and I don't think I want to click. What do you think!?!

Hmmm....so, no one else has heard of these people? I'm confused!

Looks like a legit company(never heard of them), but I would be weary of it if you did not post your info on their site at some point. But maybe it is like Party Pop where you post your stuff and they put it on all those "partnering" Web sites.

Slightly OT: With Firefox, it is safe to follow links, as long as you reject downloads. Just know how to recognize phishing sites, so that you don't enter passwords or personal info in the wrong place.

Hmm...I found their site and I'm not even listed on it. So, how am I getting emails from them?? This whole thing is shady!

I got my first email from them yesterday...and i had no idea who they were either. Weird. I'm leery of anything that shows up unsolicited.

I am wondering about Eventective, too. Maybe you are receiving unsolicited mail because they don't have enough dancers (yet) signed up in your area and they're trying to provide more options for the planners that want to use them. ?????

I actually had to go on their website and opt out of receiving so many notifications - I kept it that I would only be notified if someone was actually requesting a bellydancer (because I was getting notifications for events that wanted clowns, magician, etc, and I was getting about 10 emails a day!!)

I should have just told them to stop with the emails all together - I don't think I will ever use this service. From what I gather from their website, you pay them for the "lead" - just the contact info of the person who is interested in booking, and then you can contact them yourself. So, you are paying them so that you can talk to someone who may or may not want to hire you. Sounds like a waste of money to me!

I found them in my area but it doesn't look like they have many listings at all for this neck of the woods. I don't think I would pay for them to do anything for me. Just my thought though.

I got one today. 30 men want to hire a belly dancer for a bachelor party. Um, no.

mine said 200 for a meeting....lol
