Growing out of my studio space

    Hi ladies!

I have a small studio that I am growing out of and I am having a hard time finding adequate space.

Can anyone please share how they found their space and post some ideas for me?

    Thanks!

I've never had this problem but maybe you can scout around your area to see if there are other larger dance studios you could rent/lease? I know it's not much but it might be easier than going to a rental agent.

Hey girly...wish I had better times to offer you some space! Soon! But if you want some weekend times, I can totally accommodate you.

Try calling "Our Place". Its a personal training studio that I had chatted up last year when I was looking for a space. They had been interested, but I found the space I'm in now so nothing ever came of it. I'll check my email archives and see if I still have the contact person in there...but they were very open to the idea. I'm not sure how big their space is, but its not far from where you are already. And I can vouch for their coolness...my Mom was a client of theirs when they had their space in Mandeville and I went with her a few times...that's what made me think to call them originally. They also have space for massage, so might be a plus for you there.

I had talked to a few of the gyms in the area, but they wanted to charge me outrageous rent or take all my profit and pay me hourly...neither of which I was into. Dance schools can be tricky around here...you might want to ask Jackie how she's fared with it since she's been working out of one for a little while now.

Hope some of that helps...see you next week

Assuming you're looking to hire-by-the-hour, perhaps you can approach schools or colleges and see what facilities they might have. What about golf or lawn-bowls centres? Often those clubs have extra facilities for hire.

    Thank you ladies!

Safira, the dance schools I've talked with are a little pricey, and they don't seem to like returning phone calls. I did have one school that expressed interest but it was in Mandeville and I'd like to stay over in Cov.

I'll check out Our Place! I drive by it all the time, not sure why I didn't think of that before, lol. It's practically right under my nose!

I figured that dance schools around here might be high maintenance. I think I know of which school in Mandeville...I had looked at one that expressed a positive attitude but couldn't get decent times or guarantees out of them. :(

There is also a gym in Covington that had been interested, but I was a little concerned about them...I think it would have been a production number to allow non-members to take the class. Which seriously limits what you can do as far as students.

I just emailed you the contact info for Our Place...turns out that the gal I was corresponding with there used to belly dance. So they are definitely friendlies! ..l;,
