I listed myself on mypartyplanner.com. I decided to google myself to see how I come up. This is the google result I got:

Party Planning: naked belly dancer

Not just me, but other legit dancers coming up under "naked"?!?! WTF?! .w.:,m::

ETA: Going to see if I can email them but my WTF flag is flying high!!!!!!

Hmm do Clowns come up as Killer clowns? Clowns to terrify your kids?

Yes. I see very legit local dancers listed on that page.

That is soo wrong. If someone hires you because they thought you were going to be naked, they aren't going to be very happy.. lol

It's the sort of thing that makes you want l33t hacker skills, so you could make clowns "killer" and lawyers "unscrupulous" and writers "hacks" and strippers "prostitutes". And then maybe someone might just start to *get it*.

Oh let's be honest: if someone hires me, thinks I will show up naked and I *DO*, they are NOT going to be happy!!!

WTF???!!! I appear on this list and I'm not sure how--I certainly don't do that. I also see people I know who I'm pretty sure don't dance naked. I'm quite PO'd (and want to hunt these guys down like dogs in the street)... but also vaguely amused because somehow "naked belly dancer" sounds more like a threat than a good thing to me. ..l;, A good, loose Egyptian shimmy, when viewed from behind, would scare the crap out of even the most hardened perv.

Well, I guess I'll be contacting them with an angry note...

Since it is not an actual category, but search results...I would bet that someone on party pop did a search for naked belly dancer and since searching pulls up any of those terms, all belly dancers were listed. And then somehow the search got cached in their system. Just a guess.

Nope. It's a search they specifically allow. If what you suggested were the case, the searches "killer clown" and "naked clown" would pull up all the clowns. They do not.

Yes, and if they expect you to strip, they should allow at least 2 hours, to undo all those safety pins and everything!

BARF! So when they get the contract with you, they should be sure to check when you are going to get naked. All the more reason for using a contract. You get to dispel the rumors. If it's not in the contract, that means you aren't going to do it.
