    Anyone else get this email?

This came in my mail today for both my own site and my troupe's site:

    Hello there,
I came across your page while doing some research on belly dancing. I noticed that on Chicago-Elgin Area Belly Dance: Christina King Links you link to http://www.joyofbellydancing.com/index.html, and I think that page may be broken (it doesn't seem to be working for me). In my research, I came across this page, Belly Dancing is for Lovers, which has some great information and links to other helpful websites. I thought you might find it to be a good replacement for the broken page.
    Thanks,
    Amy Hazelton

This is bogus. The link to Yasmina's Joy of Bellydancing website works just fine from both sites. What's more is if you take a close look (what are we, idiots?) at the url she suggests as a "replacement" is actually part of a dating site.

I've gotten link trade requests from businesses totally unrelated to bellydance before, but I don't think I've ever had one try to get me to remove a perfectly good link to a real and useful bellydance site!

Re: Anyone else get this email?

She's probably part of some company that does shady, scammy, scuzzy things to boost her own or her client's websites to the top of the listings. What she doesn't know is that Google algorhythms are getting "smarter" these days and can sniff out these lame-O link fishing tactics from a mile away, thus hurting the offender's search rankings.

You can rest assured the SEO Gods will throw a lightning bolt upon her sorry, clueless arse someday.

    Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!

I'm laughing my butt off over the article.

    The last paragraph:

Belly dancing keeps getting more and more popular because it's a great way for people to come together - and it's a better way to meet guys than online dating or personals!

The word DATING links to datehookup.com. Yet, the article is posted on datehookup.com.

Now, what conscienable marketer would diss one's own industry to promote one's own product?

    Hahahahahaha idiot.

yeah... not so bright, this one.... on many many counts (like I'm not going to test a reportedly broken link before replacing it with a dating site faux article----farticle?)

Re: Anyone else get this email?

I submitted Brice Cakes to the Bitchionary. They are the Rachel Brice wanna be's that have no original ideas of their own and copy every aspect of Rachel from costume to music choice to dance moves.... and they fall pathetically short.

This does *not* refer to tribal fusion dancers who have been influenced by Miz Brice and have put their own style/spin/attitude onto it to make it their own.
