Thread: Don't Tell Me I Got Lowballed AGAIN...

Everyone handles this differently, but I won't commit unless I am paid 100% upfront. Today I booked a gig for a party this Saturday and the client paid $245 on credit card, no problem. She found me on the web and was more than happy to pay my fee after we discussed her preferences (brief performance and group lesson).

It's going to be a lot of fun; small party on an estate overlooking the water, with miniature horses to boot. They keep a small herd on their property and I'm really looking forward to making an equine connection, as well as the belly dance gig, of course.

Maybe I should bring a few *croup* scarves for the horsies. . . . ..g.:

Yep, the baby pageant this weekend was super creepy. I saw one girl and her mom with an entire luggage cart stacked top to bottom with Rubbermaid boxes full of make-up. I'm an adult bellydancer and I don't own that much makeup!

I did have one pair of girls look at me with mouths wide open as I walked across the hotel in my workshop gear and say, "*gasp* She's showing her stomach!" This from some six year olds who were dressed like 30 year old hookers...

That's so sad! They have absolutely no concept of what's being done to them. What a bizarre disconnect.

There's overt child abuse--- neglect, physical-emotional-sexual abuse etc. We alll know it when see it.

This is a type of covert abuse. (along with kids on reality TV shows)...it's about the parent, not about what is best for the child. The longer they get to be 'kids' the stronger they'll be as adults.

I saw your performance (which was great by the way!). :) I intended to introduce myself afterwards, but I got sidetracked by a couple of people then wasn't able to find you.
