Re: My New Website!
I like the layout b/c it's easy to navigate and find your way through and the color choice in my opinion is easy on the eyes.
The only thing that stood out to me was your picture on your homepage. The first thought that went through my head was, "Oh god, she fell and hurt herself". I know you were doing floorwork but someone in the GP might not realize what was going on. It's a strange pose/capture.
The other thing was your bio. might be a tad to long. Only the facts ma'am, as they say.
Congrats! on your first website.

Re: My New Website!
Hello Michelle!
LoL … Wow, I never thought of that picture that way...it’s incredible how people can see the same image and see totally different things...how creative the mind can get…I respect your “view” but I do love that picture though...and see something totally different and hope others will too
I do agree however about my bio been a little long…it’s just hard to tell one’s life/trajectory in only 2 paragraphs...I'm working on getting it shorter ..g.:
Thanks for taking the time to check it out and I appreciate all constructive criticism!

Re: My New Website!
Hi, Sahari
I agree with what Michelle said about both the front page picture and your bio. Your bio should only include facts relevant to your journey as a dancer. Better too little than too much info, people don't want to read a lot any more.

Re: My New Website!
Another thing - you may not want to have your legal name on your dance site. Dancers have mentioned that it makes it too easy for creepy men to bother you.

Re: My New Website!
While I understand what you are trying to convey with the front picture, I would change it to something more expected and GP friendly.

Re: My New Website!
Ok Chicas...
I've made the changes...check it out and let me know if that's better ..g.:
I do see what you meant about the front pic...maybe not too appropriate for a front image...I still love that pic though and added it to my gallery...he he...
Thanks for the input!

Re: My New Website!
Are you familiar with the singer MIA? Something about your face resembles her. I just can't put my finger on it. Maybe it's just me.
I like that front page picture. It really shows emotion.

Thanks!
Oh yay! and in New England. :D
I live in MA, so it is nice to meet other dancers in the area. Especially, in a few years I might buy a house in CT. :p

Re: My New Website!
Good job on your site it is always better to do things yourself and have that control. I do like the picture on the home page, but do understand the comments as far as it is not a standard "performance" pose. Maybe just change it out once a month with other photos, this will add variety to your home page. Since you have the control it is easy to do this.
The only thing that I am not used to seeing on websites is an actual resume. I don't know if it is necessary. First this info is or could be in other places on the site. For example, the places you currently teach at are already listed on your classes page, who your mentors are in your bio, special workshops you teach could be listed on your class page, and I don't think it is necessary to list all the performances you have done, this list will just get too long anyway as time goes by. People really don't like too many words, and the resume really looks too wordy and unnecessary in my opinion.
I do want to add that I really do like your homepage a lot! I like the colors, the fonts and the layout. It is very classy!! Good job girl!
