Thread: Festival Rates

I received an email recently to get a group of bellydancers together to perform for a festival, not for pay but for entrance into the festival for the day. I am going to respond requesting payment (not tickets) but was not sure what to charge for a 45-60 minute festival performance, per dancer. The festival is about two hours away and the performance is midday. This is a new one for me so thought I would get some advice. Any thoughts?

At least $250-400 per dancer, which includes travel fees & admission to the festival. Maybe more, 2 hours away = 4hours total travel. It depends on your area & how many dancers they want. Our rates go down the more dancers you book because we can carpool & fix our set to have solos & small group pieces in between the full troupe pieces, which gives you a bit of a breather...
