My new home page
Some of you were kind enough to comment on my website and offer some suggestions. I rebuilt my home page and eliminated a "menu" page that confused many people. My home page now echoes the same design on my business card and press kit for continuity. I'd love if some of you would go take a look at it again for me. The only thing I don't like about it is the menu at the top of the page rather than along the side or elsewhere...but I'm using iweb, and that's where it goes...there's not any way to move it, unfortunately...one of the few complaints I have about Mac's many awesome creativity products.

thanks!

Re: My new home page
Oh heck ,m:: I just looked from a different browser, and the words in the header are screwed up. Ignore that. It's the font I used on the Mac...obviously not supported on pc. I will have to change the font to a common font when I get home. ,m::

It's beautiful, Sonja! Love the clean new design and the focus on one solid color scheme.
I admire you (and Sahari, too!) for having the patience to figure out web stuff on your own. I failed miserably at my DIY attempts ,r:;

Re: My new home page
Hi Sonja,
Overall, I think it is a great improvement. However, if you would allow me to nitpick a little...
I use google chrome these days and the image turned out wonky. It's the belly dance that is messed up. Remember that you can only use certain fonts on Web sites. Any other fonts and it turns out a little strange. I am also not sure that Comic Sans suits the words "Belly Dance" either.
It might work if you made it a part of the image like Sonja is. That way you could control how it looks. If you do that though, make sure you use the words "belly dance" as either a meta tag or disperse it frequently throughout the page.
Also the cut out of you could use some real cleaning up. I like the picture very much, but the edges are ragged. What program are you using to cut out the image? If you don't have photoshop, try downloading Gimp.
OK, here is the screen shot:

I am also curious as to why you have to have that super long html address? Is there anyway to shorten it? You may want to look up how to organize a web site directory. Most homepages are called "index."
