Thread: Oppinions on Rates Page

My troupe is working on our first rates page and we could use some feedback.

The policies at the bottom will be put on a separate page, but for now it's all in one place. We've got our rates pretty much finalized. They may even seem high to some people, but we are the only dancer's around here so we're taking this opportunity to start a tad high in case they go down later. So we will see.

And let's see if anyone can catch my subtle way of saying "Yes, we really do need space to dance!!"

I like the layout - you provide lots of detail but it's broken up into clear subsections. If your clients actually take the time to read everything, they will have a pretty accurate idea about what you provide and what they need to provide. If they actually read it ...,r:;

My one suggestion would be to consider putting all the subsection headings at the top of the page (possibly as links that will take the viewer directly to that particular paragraph, since it is a long page). Also, there's a typo near the bottom - "Cancellations" is missing an L.

I like it!! One thing that almost confused me, maybe it's just because I'm dense....

On your add a lesson section, I think it needs to be clearer that those prices are being "added" to your price (they are, right?). I can see how it would be easy for someone to think that that was the total price for the show and the lesson.

I'm tired, so I'm not sure if I'm making sense....

I think some customers could be confused by the current breakout which look like 15 minutes could cost eitehr $150 or 200. What if you changed it to 10 minute show, and 15+ minute show? There's a gap yes, but the demand for 11- or 13-minute shows is slight.

also beware of the multi-dancer thing. Because people if you are at a standard wedding gig with your partner for 30 min. total is that $275 each(2 mini -shows), or $3oo each(standard show, 2-dancer pricing), or $375 each (wedding package, 2-dancer)? It seems obvious to the dancer, but customers love to feel clever and you don't want to be haggling over the phone about it.

Lotus, good call on the multi dancer trick. I never would have thought of that! I think if someone tried that on me I'd just tell 'em "sorry, but if I'm still there in costume when I could be home sitting on my couch I'm still working."

Just a couple of spelling things that jumped out at me (below)... Other than that it looks very nice! I agree with Anuka and Daniela's suggestions to add heading links - maybe simplify it to Packages: Performance, Performance & Lesson, Lesson, Performance Policies - (and one link at the bottom to take you back up to the top) and to make it clear that 'extras' are an additional cost.

In the first paragraph: "We can also custom taylor to your specifications, just ask!" should be "tailor"

Under Cancellations:
"or extream illness" should be "extreme"

Under Deluxe Package
"elegent package" should be "elegant"

Under Dance Space and Sound
"durring" should be "during"

Might want to copy the text into Word and run a spell check on it, just in case.

i agree that you need to make it cleare that the dance lesson as an extra cost

"performance prices as above " PLUS XX for the dance lesson

in the dance and safety section i woukd add; "we bring our own music on cd". now you imply it but you dont actually say it...

i also have something i say beforehand about a private and large enough space to get dressed? or do you arrive in full costume?

ah, i see you have it at the bottom, with safety. i just tend to include it in the basics together with space and sound...
