I'm resurrecting this thread since I'm currently trying to decide between a dance profile and a fan page and I had a few questions I can't find the answers to.
Can you tag a photo of your 'fan self'? If I made fan page I would want to tag my photos with my fan page name instead of my real name.
Can your fan page be fans of other peoples fan pages?

One more question- can people that I have blocked as myself see and/or join my fanpage?

Here is the biggest difference:

Profiles are people
Pages are businesses (or celebrities)

When you tag a photo...you are tagging a person. So you tag with a profile, not a page. But if you are adding photos to your own fanpage, you aren't going to need to tag them. It will be assumed they are of you. If you want to tag with a dance name, then you will need a profile with your dance name.

Yes, your fan page can be a fan of other people's fan pages. It's called "favorites".

I don't know if blocked people can see your fanpage, but I'm going to guess so. People don't have to be your friend to access your fanpage. It's highly public. Pages act sort of like mini-websites.

Personally, I love having the fanpage for the Intensive. I post more personal things to my profile wall, and business things to the fanpage wall.
