How much would you charge for Festivals?
I haven't gotten any replies so now my question is how do I write a contract? And do you expect to be paid right after your performance?

Re: How much would you charge for Festivals?
what is your email? I'll send you my general contract. I fill it in to reflect the specs for the festival (dressing room, bottled water, full promotional billing... whatever you agreed upon)
There's a thread about the delays that can occur when your payment has to go through "red tape", which is common when dancing for an organization. I would call you contact person to find out if your check request has been processed and if not, request that it begin processing immediately so you will have your payment as soon as possible.

Re: How much would you charge for Festivals?
Fushia, sorry you didn't get any replies to your first question. I don't charge any differently for Festivals than I do for other gigs. The only exception would be if it was hosted by the community center where I teach - I usually do a shorter set but I don't charge, as it is direct marketing to potential students. I always get at least 3 or 4 new students after doing these. Other Festivals I charge regular prices.
I always expect to be paid upon completion of a performance. Even with corporate customers, they book far enough in advance that they have time to get the cheque ready. I've never had a problem getting paid right after I'm finished dancing. Sounds like Nayastrance's contract covers the other details. I find, especially for Festivals, that a changeroom is important! And also the dance space. I don't suggest dancing on a slanted floor, or on grass. Its amazing what some people think we can dance on.....
