Thread: Anyone use Facebook Ads?

Just curious, if anyone here currently or in the past has used Facebook Ads? Do they work? Are they costly? Good investment? Does anyone here ever actually click on any of the Facebook Ads?

I'm using them for the studio. This is only my second month, but so far it's paying for itself, which I consider outstanding and a bit rare with advertising.

Usually I have to take into account the fact that a new student might come back on average for 3 sessions and refer at least one friend to justify advertising expense. But last month I spent about $65 on FB ads and brought in one student (who I'm sure came from there) for $54.

In contrast, the 3 months prior to that I spent about $500 to be on the back of grocery store receipts, reaching over 100,000 people and I got three new students from it.

I think the difference is that with Facebook I only pay for people who actually CLICK on my ad, regardless of how many people SEE it.

I expect to do even better once I've tweaked my ad copy and target market a bit.

The other nice thing is being able to set up a budget and a time period so you can run an affordable test (commit, say, $5 a day for a week) and see what happens.)

It's similar to the Google ad setup - but paying for Google ads doesn't make sense to me when my studio comes up instantly if you put in my town name and 'bellydance'

I use it for work and I like it. We don't have any measurables (aka conversions) because we have a health related site and you can't measure behavior change on the internet! So far so good. It is easy to use, too.

As an fyi:
We've been running since Jan 1, 2009 and have had 9,488,294 impressions and 2,973 clicks. It comes out to about $0.48 per click.

I use them to advertise my DVDs. So far I have had many clicks but not a single order... Might stop them eventually.
