In Desperate NEED of STAFF (Event Planners)
Hi everyone,
I have a friend that is working on a few small workshop festivals here and there. She's really stressed out, even though she thinks she can handle it on her own, but I really think she needs some kind of staff for all of her endeavors.
With that said, do you guys happen to know of any trustworthy event planners that would be willing to work from now until the Spring on these festivals?
The festivals, I think, are going to include Randa Kamel, Saida, Oscar Flores, and Mohammed El Hosseny, to name a few. She already has them all on contract, so it is a guarantee that the event planner will be working very closely with these people!
If you could speak to any one you know that is available or would love an opportunity to work with these big stars, and forward me their information at this email address: lytrank@gmail.com , my friend and I would very much appreciate it. Thank you!!!
(=

Re: In Desperate NEED of STAFF (Event Planners)
You may want to stress specific benefits that will be used to pay people for their time, effort, and reliability other than just working closely with your guests. My convention and workshop running experiences isn’t from the belly dance world, but I used to work various large Japanese animation conventions being in charge of American based guests…and I found that staff members who thought that being in staff gave them a special “in” to the personal time of guests could be as much of a drain on our guests as convention attendees who acted less entitled.
When casting a wide net on a place like Bhuz, think about stressing the specific things you’re offering (ability to attend the workshops and shows for free/ what things like room and board or transportation with be compensated) to reduce the number of people who expect to be paid in proximity to and contact with the guests.
Also, investigate relatively similar, or nearby, workshops and events in the past and contact the organizers directly to ask for recommendations and assistance.

Was this going to be a paid position, or a 'benefits in kind' position?

You should put the areas or locations your friend is anticipating having these events at so you can look for more localized people.
If you are casting a wider net, provide is travel ammenities will be arranged.
