Costume Designs and What to Do with Them!
I have stacks of costume designs, which as of late have been becoming more and more detailed. I make my own costumes occasionally but I'm not NEARLY as skilled as professional costume makers, like Bella or Eshta. Nor do I have the time or money (I'm a full time student in college). Any ideas on where I can take my designs? There are quite a few that I'm sure could make it out in the world, but some I want specifically for me (eventually, when I'm rich hahaha). I know some makers will take designs and contruct them for you, but what about actually...selling them out to other dancers for monetary gain? Do they take outside designs?
I'm sorry if this isn't making much sense haha. But answers and suggestions are always appreciated. Have a good day and thanks!

Re: Costume Designs and What to Do with Them!
hi Eden, I think a lot of dancers like to discuss their wishes with a designer for a custom made costume.
If you offer a design service, maybe you could work together with a semastress/costumer who can create the design after you sketched it.
As a dancer, I wouldn't buy a ready made design because:
- I like to design my own costumes
- I like to tweak costume design to my body

sometimes you can sell them to a designer. But mainly you save your pennies and take them to someone to be created. But not everyone works that way. You should send out some emails and see what happens.

Thank you (to both of you)!
The more I think about it, the more I would want my costume to be unique to me and even though I love my designs, I would only want it to be mine! haha kind of like when you go to a party and two people have the same dress ..l;,
Do most vendors offer custom costumes with the dancer's own designs? I know of a few, but I'm always curious :)

I know Lucy at Scheherezade Imports offers custom work where you can submit your own design for the costumers to work with- I ended up not going through with submitting even basic ideas (this around the time of my car accident 3 years ago, so life got in the way!) but I know she is nice to work with. I imagine there are many others who would be willing to work with you, just a matter of communicating clearly. I am such a hands on person, I know it would be a challenge for me to get exactly what I want, which is what has stopped me in the past. I am exploring doing the sewing myself & sending out for the beadwork... after this new baby... (I'm just sure I'll have more time *dripping sarcasm*)
