Thread: Has anyone else received this e-mail?

I've gotten three of the exact same e-mail (wording is only slightly different) all within 3 days of the other.

My name is [name],A nationality of United kingdom but currently based in Greece.i found of your info while i was searching for a professional dance teacher.how ever, i want to believe you are a dance teacher/instructor that LOVES teaching dance, reliable with a good teaching experience. I would like to book for 2 weeks dance classes for 3 hours each day Monday to Saturday (morning hours) for a group of 10. We are asking for 3 hours per day for 2 weeks - Monday - Saturday. A total of 36 hrs.
We want to entertain the guests as well as family members that would be attending the 50th wedding anniversary of my parents. The dancers are all in INTERMEDIATE level. What kind of dances do you teach? We need dance classes/private lessons like Tango,Latin,Ballet as well as Salsa, Swing and Ballroom.ANY of the above can serve.
Do you have a training studio/facility where you conduct the classes?

DATE: 1st January TO 15th January 2009

The group would be performing for a group of family members over there. I would love you to get back to me with the Grand total cost or a quote/estimate. What are your charges and payment options? Do you accept credit cards?
I would be grateful if you will be willing to do the work to teach quality classes and make us happy.

*I replied to the first one, declining the job because i don't have my own studio and I wouldn't have the time considering I am a full time student. But then I receive more of them from different names! I mean, 36 hours of private dance lessons (the e-mails before mentioned bellydance lessons) JUST for a family reunion party! I can't imagine someone wanting to pay that much money for an event like that...I'm pretty suspicious.

Yes, sadly this is a really common one, if you search the forum you'll find a couple of threads on this. They 'accidentally' overpay you with a dodgy cheque and ask you to money transfer them the overpaid balance. By the time you realise the cheque is bad, its too late, and they're off with your money.

That is a pretty clever version of an email i have seen a hundred times. It is definately a scam, i wouldnt' even reply to them

yep I have gotten this one lately, too

I've been getting a nearly identical version of this email at least once a week for the past few months...sometimes I'll have two of them in my IN box at one time (same email, different sender)! I have never responded to any of them, so I'm not sure why I'm still on their list ,r:;
