    Yes. This seems to be sooooo true of bat mitzvahs and Sweet 16's as well ,r:;

    I think we have a slew of god-awful coming-of-age shows on MTV to thank for this ridiculous trend among America's elite bratlings ,r:;,r:;,r:;

    Thanks for the reminder. Do you think it's ok if I just put the link on my links page?

    Also, thanks for the compliment of my site. I'm a fan of clean pages, but I can't take all the credit. It was a google pages template, and when google pages disappeared, I was able to download the html files and from there I just updated the colors. Very clever...hee hee hee.

    Also, slightly off topic, if people need to know the demo of their area, newspapers' advertising kits are a great way to find that info, as well as Chamber of Commerce sites.

    Good call! This is the one thing I miss most about my job in radio ad sales. I used to sit there and screw around on QualiTap (our qualitative data software program) for hours, running all kinds of interesting scans on our local market. The best part was, they even had a category for people who had attended a dance performance within the past 6 months! So you could see how much money they made, what level of education they obtained, and even what type of food they eat and which type of media they consume most frequently! It's a wonder I got anything done at my last job ..l;,

    Ok...I'm still slightly confused about how all these social media things integrate together. I know that I can have a tweet automatically show up on facebook. Is there some way to post an update in ONE location and have it show up in facebook, myspace, twitter, flickr, etc...? Is there anything that simple?

    That I don't know, and I don't know if the tweet goes to facebook, but I know that the facebook fan page status updates go to twitter.

    I love my feed on my website, though. It makes the site look much more "happening" in real time, you know?

    Yes!
    I use Ping.FM. It's been around for some time, and is the simplest and (IMHO) best of the "write once/post everywhere" tools. A number of Twitter clients integrate it with, as well!

    That said, many services have "post to Twitter/Facebook" capabilities, as well. For example, I used to use a Facebook App to tie Twitter into my Facebook to automate this sort of thing, but I prefer the flexibility that Ping.FM provides.

    It's pretty cool, now.
    I started to write a long dissertation about the site when you first posted, but I felt I couldn't say it well before I had to hit the plane for CHI-town and the Dina workshop. And I'm glad to say that you're resolved much of my concern, esp. with the newsletter bit!

    Your instincts are solid in this; less is oftentimes better, as counter-intuitive as it seems. :)

    I'm sorry I missed the dissertation! I would have welcomed the advice.

    I agree that less is more, but I must be doing something right because I'm at the top of the google pile when you look up "belly dance dallas"

    I don't want to lose that as I redesign and streamline

    Update! I found the myspace badge. It was in like the only place I never looked. On your "Stream" look at your status and click "View More." From there you go to a page with just your status updates, called "Satus and moods." The badge is on the right-hand side.
