Help me choose a new business card pic
I need new business cards yesterday!
I'd like to use a photo from my recent shoot with Pixie rather than just
re-order my old ones, but I need help deciding what will work best.
the photos are on pages 1-3 of my tribe album here
http://people.tribe.net/mariyahelizabeth/photos
any suggestions?

Definitely the fourth one on the first page -- the color, the movement, the expression -- beautiful!!

I vote for 4 too, though I also like nr. 7 and 8. You've got a nice colorscheme going on with the orange and yellow, it looks really good combined with your hair/skintone.

I like #4 also, and #2.
I think the fan ones have great composition for a business card (the solid color of the fan would be a great spot for your name/contact info), but the fan doesn't really scream belly dance to me.

this is my second choice, although I might tone this one with a color, I like the texture (#12):

Thanks everyone! I actually hadn't thought of #4, but now looking at it with a card in mind, it does seem like a good choice. I haven't decide for sure yet, but its now a definite possbility.
I do have color version of #9 as well.

Well, my favourite photos is not the one I would use on a card.
I like 4362 but the veil hides too much of your body.
I also like 4345, 4356 and 4224b but your face is profiled and can't see your eyes.
The one I would chose is 4301. Your eyes are engaging the camera, I can see your body and it's an unusual camera angle.

I like this one for a flyer and maybe a biz card (it has to be vertical) ~

and both pictures with the roses. They're gorgeous!

I like 4362 but it needs some photo-editing - just a little brightening on the face with the dodge tool really.
I like it because
a) it's a great action pose, showing that you do veil.
b) shows off your pretty smile
c) it doesn't show too much of your body so it sends that "family-friendly fun" image.
d) I definitely get the feeling of excitement - it sells your style/image to me very well.

Wow? I feel the opposite - I feel like the pose shortens her body and distorts it and secondly, too much leg. I don't get the action pose even though it must be considering the veil - overall it's a confusing photo to my eye - I don't like it.
I like 4072 a lot. I think for a business card, you need a picture of you, smiling at the camera (out of the card, that is to say - making eye contact). All the pictures would be great for a website. The card also needs to say what you do, so that's why I'm not a huge fan of the big feather fans because not everyone associates those with bellydancers - some might even think you're a burlesque dancer (and maybe you do that too, and if so, go with one of those for that business.) 4204 is great too.
I love some of the black and white ones but they either look too remote, artistic, or they don't show any dancing and could just be "glamour" photos. This is not to say they wouldn't be great on your website, but I wouldn't use them for my "first impact" of a card.
Mariyah, just so you know, it's not anything about _you_ that I don't like in this photo. You are beautiful in all of these photos. But I'm married to a photographer and we spend a lot of time critiquing photos, especially wedding photos for the customers, trying to figure out which ones to put into portfolios or to suggest to people that they put in their album.....and these are my thoughts.

Absolutely beautiful photos! You look lovely and the costumes....well, let me know when you want to get rid of the one in 4356. :) It's fantastic!
I feel while 4362 is a really great shot- it covers too much of your body. People want to know what you look like - and unless you're in an UBER conservative town they will be comfortable with a pic of you in a belly dance costume- which is also nice because it's an accurate representation of what you will be presenting in a typical family friendly show.
My fave shots are 4356, 4224b and 4267.
4267 might be a bit too sultry, though for a "first impression" business card if it is to be a one sided card with only one shot.
The smile in 4356 is relaxed and I like the movement. It shows both your face and part of your body. Realistically people want to know what you look like. I think it's very family friendly.
4224 b is just a stunning shot.
Artemis Mourat suggests showing your face AND your body- at the very least a torso shot. They want to know you're pretty (and you're stunning!) and they want to know they will find your shape pleasing to their tastes.
If you can get a double sided card- 4357 and 4267 would contrast really nicely with each other. They both have nice spaces in the composition to put your info.
As said above- they're ALL fantastic and would be great on your site.

I like 6 and 13 best. But I feel the right one isn't there yet, you want something that is both a good face shot, and a good 'atmospheric shot' while having some movement, and showing the full body costume. You seems to be standing strangely in some of the posed shots, I know some people do this to look thinner, I felt something more natural would be better. I hope this is helpful even thought possibly not what you were looking for. :-)
