Over the summer I vend at festivals here in hawaii..this looks like a really nice way to have the ability to accept credit card payments without having to lug around a lot of equipment..anyone have experience using this?

I applied for it, and they wasted no time in turning me down. I have an account called "Dial Pay" through Transfirst. I use a manual imprinter, and when I get home, I call an 800 # to process it. I haven't had any problems, and the money is in the bank within two days.
I've also been told that Costco has an excellent credit card processing plan, but I haven't checked it out yet.Last edited by gypsydanse; 04-15-2007 at 06:12 PM. Reason: spelling

oh that sucks..getting turned down..I applied for it this morning..wonder what they base it on? Volume of sales and percentage of online sales? I've been with paypal for over 6 years so hopefully that will help.
Am interested in your suggestions and feedback about those smaller hand held machines that can process credit cards on the spot. I forgot who was telling me that you can get one of those hand held machines from paypal..or set it so it accepts paypal..one or the other..anyways will try to find out and post. This kind of thing would be really useful for outdoor festivals .

I have used Paypal's virtual terminal for 2 years now. I still get nervous when I get home and start processing cards. Dreading that one card that doesn't go through for whatever reason. But those situations have been far and few between. I do about 70% of my on location business in credit cards, so it really has been a great tool to have. Seeing that I am on location just about every weeknd. I give it 2 thoumbs up!

I looked into buying a Nurit 8000, which processes credit cards on the spot. You just swipe the card, and it goes through, and I also think they need a SIM card. But they're too expensive for me, right now, so I do it the simple way. I didn't think you could get them through PayPal, though. You can sometimes find them on eBay from someone that's going out of business.

I have cc processing though NovaInfo, which works with Costco. I get the monthly fee waived as I am a Costco member. Works great for me. I have a program on my computer at home where I process all the stuff when I get back.
Some people prefer having a 800 number to confirm while at the event. But I find that's a hassle compared to the small number of return claims I ever get.
