Re: Mini lesson = mini integrity?
You accused other posters of not understanding/twisting your positions, and/or interpreting them wrong. And I agree, that is probably true--some people most likely did. (As I discussed in my last post.) However, the same is definitely happening on the otherside. I understand you feel under attack, but, as you yourself said, one can't control what another chooses to read into one's post.
I actually do have numbers (as I mentioned in my post) but I'm not interested in posting them (thus posted XX-XXX as my range) for two reasons:
1. This is an open forum--pretty much anyone can get on here, lurk, and read anything we post, not just the "bhuzzers" we interact with all the time. Even if I'm fine with sharing that business info with all of the others actively involved in this discussion, I don't feel like sharing it with every lurker who may be out there...including any six-week wonders who may be inappropriately encouraged by my successes and start seeing dollar signs. ;)
2. I'm not interested in defending myself on this matter (doing mini-lesson gigs)--neither from an ethical nor business perspective. I am sorry you have not had good experiences in this particular arena, but I am perfectly comfortable with who I am, my ethical standards, and how I conduct my business. I don't owe you or anyone else the numbers or the arguements for why I think it's fine--good, even--to do these kinds of gigs.
To each their own. I'm not angry, I'm not trying to be snarky, and I'm sure not attacking anyone.
Here's a peace offering--have a kitty taco.

Re: Mini lesson = mini integrity?
BTW, I had a fantastic performance/mini-lesson at a wellness center his weekend. Most of the attendees were between 60 - 80 years old, so I don't think they'll be hitting the restaurant circuit with the moves I taught them any time soon. I wound up having a fabulous conversation with an gentleman about the whole harem/orientalist fantasy misconception, who thanked me profusely for enlightening him on the subject. As he said, "I'm old, but not too old to learn something new, I guess."
