what does everyone have on their business cards? just name and contact info? or do you list what kind of dance you specialize in? is it front and back?
did you use photoshop to make the card? i'm trying to figure out what to put on my cards

Re: business cards
I'm in the same boat as you currently. I'm about to make up my business cards as well and I have the same exact questions!

Re: business cards
Name, website, contact info, pix on each side, classes, the general area you work, etc. All-too-often I gather business cards, take them home and realize there's no location mentioned. If that info is not provided I toss those cards in the trash. That includes all business cards, not just dance-related. Too easy to provide pertinent info.

Re: business cards
Thank you! Yes my card is minimalistic both in design and info. I don't teach classes and have no location mentioned as I live in Holland which is so small I can get anywhere within a 2 hr drive

Oh and to design them I used the online business card making tool from Vistaprint - Business Cards which is where I ordered them.

Re: business cards
Mine are double sided glossy with a photo on each side. On the front is name, ph# and website, on the back it has what sort of work I do: classes, parties, festivals, restaurants, nightclubs, events. I use overnightprints so just upload the pictures and use their fonts for the text layout.

Re: business cards
Don't forget to make pertinent info (like the phone number) large enough to read by nearly anyone under most lighting conditions. Don't make the potential customer work too hard or they'll move on to the next dancer's card because they're in a hurry or they just can't find the number or can't read it, etc. I'm with Showtime on this.

Re: business cards
Here's my card:

It's single sided, contains my dance name, phonenumber, website and e-mail. I didn't include my location because the Netherlands is a small country. I might add 'netherlands' to the next print for clarification. I used photoshop to create the image and vistaprint to order the cards.

Re: business cards
I do and teach both Tribal and Egyptian style dance, so I have a double-duty card that reflects that. One side has me in a classic beaded costume and says "Egyptian Oriental Dance Artist" under my name. The other side as a picture of me all tribalicious and says "Tribal Fusion Dance Arist" under my name.
Both sides also say "performances, classes, workshops. Chicago and beyond" and have my phone number and web address.
I created it in photoshop and ordered from Vistaprint, but have found Gotprint since then and might get my next batch from them.

Re: business cards
Here's mine, created in Photoshop, and usually have them printed with Vistaprint (whenever businesscards are free there I order a batch..

It's single-sided, with just my dance name, contact information and website on it. I don't have a location on the card, as I use them for both local and international stuff and I can use the back side for writing on if needed.

Re: business cards
Just say no to VistaPrint. We had a client wanting the 'cheapest cards we could get' and they got what they paid for. The printing wasn't that great and the trim was bad. It was a vertical layout which got flipped on the first run. (Admittedly, they have fixed their online design program to handle this quirk.)
Try Modern Postcard: Business Card | Modern Postcard
Or Imagers: Color postcard printing service
Although, neither of these printers have the online design program.

Re: business cards
I've been using Cheap Business Cards for $2.99. Quality Personal Service by PrintsMadeEasy.com for years.
Easy online design tools.
Quick delivery.
Good prices.
Sometimes specials on business cards and post cards when you order both at the same time.
I have two sided cards. One a headshot, one right now full body, but always at least torso.
Name, email, phone on one side.
Website and "belly dance, bollywood, performances, classes, workshops" listed on other side.

Re: business cards
I don't use Vistaprint anymore either. They're paper is crap too. Overnight prints doesn't always trim accurately either, but I use them anyway. However, I'm going to try those other sites at some point now too. Thanks. Also, Moo.com is also a great site for printing, but I've never done biz cards through them, only note cards.
Here are my cards:

Here are my current ones. I will probably redesign later this year. I usually redesign every 1-2 years.
