Thread: Belly Dance Costume/Arab music stores in NYC?

I was wondering if anyone knew of any stores in the NYC area (the yellow pages are not helping one bit). I'm visiting home in Queens very soon and I'd like to see some costumes in person if possible in any of the five boroughs. Also any Arab music stores where I might find some old bellydance videos? HELP!

This is Jehan's new store, and it's not only great, it's conveniently located near Times Square, Port Authority, and 34 St. subways. It is also -- and this is IMPORTANT -- right in the heart of the fabric and trim district!

This is the only store like this that I know of. It's right off Atlantic Avenue. Go to the Borough Hall station in Brooklyn (many lines go there) and then --if you're not already on Court St. already -- ask how to get to Court street and then which direction to Atlantic Ave. and it's a 5 minute walk from there. Enjoy a good Middle Eastern lunch at one of the cheap places up the block on Atlantic Ave, and shop in the Middle Eastern grocery stores there too. This place is a treasure trove!

Topkapi is in Long Island, I believe. Nowhere near NYC last time I checked. You should look into it, though ...

Yes! Lina and Sarah are both excellent. Jerry Bezdekian is in NYC as well ...
