Best place to have pro pictures taken?
I really need to get professional pictures taken, but I'm not sure if I want to do them outside, or in a studio...I'm a very outdoors type person, love flowers and gardens...anybody have any insight?,r:;

I would think it depended on the wind factor for that day; otherwise, outdoor pictures are really pretty!

If it's your first photoshoot, doing it in a studio is essential. Once you have a good portfolio it's nice to intersperse with other "outside" pics and performance pics, but for now your best bet is the studio.

Re: Best place to have pro pictures taken?
I have had both done, and think it depends on your local as well as the photographer. If you are doing an indoor shoot, figure out what you want first. For my first pro shoot I did indoors, on a black background and got some great pictures, but everything just seemed too dark! I was wearing a light pink w/silver skirt ensemble, so it would have worked better I think in another outfit. Maybe a bright gold or green that would stand out against the background. I had never done this, so I did not think about it.
I then switched to outdoors, at a few locations, some of which I liked better than others. My favorite place in Denver is at a park that has huge Roman style columns and a marble floor-really neat for my Bollywood stuff! Unfortunately, because of lighting, most photographers want to shoot between 9-11am or in the evening, depending on the season, so time constraints can be limiting. I have had pics taken outdoors at various times of the day, and the early morning or evening hours really are the best!
That all being said, I will be doing another session soon, indoors on a white background. Now that I've experimented with a few looks and several photographers, I have more of an idea what I would like. I definitely am not giving up my outdoor photo shoots, but will wait until it is warmer to do more of them =) I would definitely suggest looking through other people's photos, and finding a look that you like as a reference point for a photographer. It will be a great help for you both!
Good luck!
Nikki
