Thread: Anyone Get an E-mail from "PartyBlast.com?"

It all sounds a little fishy, and kind of like the TeachStreet.com debacle a couple of months ago.

I just got an e-mail from this company called "PartyBlast.com," informing me that they had set up my free listing, and to go back to the site and fill out the rest of my information. PartyBlast had filled out my name and phone number - and somehow, they got my home address and filled it in for me

Anyone know anything about this company? Not sure if this company is legit, or where they're collecting our information from. But if you got an e-mail from them, please check out your listing. I just think it's a little creepy that they got my home address somewhere, because I really don't like to make that information public ..c::

I wasn't emailed but I just found myself on their site. Lucky for me the only info they had listed was my number.

I wouldn't mind if these directory sites sent a nice introductory e-mail saying what they're all about, and encouraging us to go sign up for a free listing. But anything that doesn't let you opt-in just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Oh well. At least they didn't give me a fake 800 number and describe my specialty as shamadan and "Couples Belly Dancing" like TeachStreet did! ,r:;

Is your phone number listed? If so, anyone can find your address on the internet - if they know your phone number.

I received an email from them too, addressed to me and my studio, but didn't click on any of the links as I wasn't familiar with the name.

Yeah, I got that email too but haven't checked it out yet - man, I hope my personal info isn't on there!

Yeah, I think everyone should go on there and make sure everything's kosher. Good news is that you can change your info once it's on there ,r:;

I got one. I think they are affiliated with MyPartyPlanner.com.

I got one. No big deal. They didn't have any info on me that isn't out there in one place or another.

I checked it out, and I'm listed on there! I had no idea. But if they're affiliated with MyPartyPlanner.com, that would make sense, because I have a listing there. All they have down is my phone number (which is NOT my home number) and "areas served"- many of which are places that I've heard of!

I don't really care, I guess- if they have an affiliation with someone I signed up with, that's fine. They don't list anything that's not listed other places, and "maybe" someone will see my info and call me for an event (unlikely from this source, but who knows)!

On a slightly related note- has anyone else seen an up-turn in private events? I went months without a single private party (so sad!) and now have 2 confirmed for this month, lost another one to someone cheaper, and have 2 more possibilities in the works! Seems like things are picking up.

No, but I did get an invitation from the Claire Public Relations Consultancy (Dear Sir or Madam) to tour China in September, bringing 15 male, and 15 female and 5 working 'stuff' of my choice with me...

I received an email too... they have my business number listed. What they want is for you to buy a listing on their site... I bet you can ask them to remove your info ;)

I have no interest in dancing for anyone who is stupid enough to hire ME to dance :)
