How much would you charge to model?
I was contacted to model for the website of a furniture store that sells Moroccan/Indian styled pieces and decor. I'm not sure what to charge!? I did some research for standard modeling rates but I'd still like to hear your thoughts, since modeling isn't my profession. Also, would you do a flat rate or by the hour? I'm under the impression I will be there for about 4 hours, a few costume changes (3-4?) and possibly doing my own hair & makeup (they may hire someone). Please let me know as I'm kind of stumped .w.:

I don't know but i would say charge by the hour. What if it turns into 7 hours? or they say you have to go back another day to finish it up?

Re: How much would you charge to model?
Azhia could maybe help you out...I think she has done some modeling.
The only thing I can add is that at a recent regional trade show I was at, the models hired got paid anywhere from $100 a day to $100+ an hour. It depended on if they were with an agency, professional or recruited from the internet (swap meets). Or sometimes they receive free products from the company they were hired to model for.

Re: How much would you charge to model?
Twenty years ago modeling rates for pro agency models were $150/hour. Of course the agency got a cut of that, but not a huge one.

Re: How much would you charge to model?
I would charge by the hour, as someone mentioned above. I think that's wise as these things can drag on.
At the same time, I would suggest finding out if this place has a lot of Indian and Arab clients. If that's the case it could be to your advantage to start a positive working relationship with them. You may get a lot of referrals. I wouldn't sell myself short because of that, but I would keep that in mind during negotiations, ask to be able to leave business cards etc.

Re: How much would you charge to model?
I did a music video shoot that went WAY overtime, and it was such an aggravating experience. After politely telling this guy several times that we needed to wrap up my footage, I actually had to walk out on the shoot because I had been there for 8 hours, gotten very little accomplished, and was going to be late for another gig. In hindsight, it was so stupid of me not to charge by the hour ,m::
I'd highly recommend either charging by the hour, or giving the guy a day rate (for, say, a 6-hour shoot) and charging an overtime fee for every 30 minutes he keeps you past whatever time you agreed upon. I can't stress this enough - time is money!
They always say they'll keep you on a tight schedule, but this isn't always the case. If they've got their act together, they'll have everything set up efficiently. If they're not particularly organized? Count on being there twice as long as they need you ,r:;
