Ugh, I've never loved my bio page. I'm glad to have an excuse to retool!

My abut page on my Coaching site is too long. I have known that for a long time. But I always have some resistance to cutting it down. Not sure where to cut.

Oooo. Thanks for sharing! I scheduled a website update tomorrow and I think I'll re-do my About Me page. There was some good tips in there!

Thanks! I've needed to re-do my bio page for ages. I hate doing about me - it feels so personal ad! Now I can focus hings a lot better!

Nice. Mia was a riot when we shared a room in Dallas. I *heart* her.

I'd really recommend getting someone who knows how to write to do it for you.

A VERY special someone just rewrote my biog for me. It was a revelation! Although I was a marketing copywriter for years and I know how these things should be done, I just couldn't do it well for myself.

My writing is generally good, but my own biog was boring, disjointed (where I'd added bits over the years) and lacking in real interest. I feel slightly embarrassed reading the new one (being British I'm not good at blowing my own trumpet) but I think it sings! I'd book myself if I could!

She's also written it in such a way that for a short version you can just use the first paragraph and add in any of the subsequent ones that fit the bill - they all stand alone. Genius!

Of course it helped that the aforementioned special person is a famous bellydancer AND a famous writer but I do think the general principle of getting someone else to look at your biography through external eyes is a good one.

I'm on the war path too...read this article a while ago and mine is in deep trouble. ;P

What I find interesting here, is the very fine balance between keeping up with something like this...and maintaining an air of mystery.

After all, we maintain the clients hire us to fit the 'fantasy' image of a bellydancer they may have...to be the exotic touch to the party..to be 'better then life'

So it would be a very fine line between seeming 'too human' for what they want, and 'human enough' to appeal.

I have no doubt it can be done, but a tough one!
