Thread: best way to offer translation for web sites

Any advice on the best way to offer translation on websites? I'm not sure if my current site has the ability to do it..but I was thinking something like a translator widget or google translator..how is that installed on to a website, and are they effective?

Do not install automatic translators because they tend to translate throwing to none-sense and akward results. You know what? Me, as a translator and bellydancer, I recommend you to hire a good translator, so that your website can be in other languages. Who knows? Believe me, it would be much better.

I agree that google translator is not something I'd want on a commercial site of mine. When I've used it to translate to English it was not reliable or even comprehensible. But you could test; have someone fluent in the language in question check your google-translated site.
