Re: is facebook taking over the need for newsletters?
I have never been big on newsletters.
But many of my local workshop students are on my FB fanpage. I publish my workshops there and instantly reach them. And if they feel like I am spamming them they can simply un-like the page.
Just recently I published a date for a monthly zill workshop and 3 of my regular students instantly reacted and told me they couldn't come on that date. So I moved the workshop to another date, now they can come. Very practical thing!
For people who feel that they get messages they don't want from games etc.: You can simply block those! You don't have to receive anything you don't want.
And I don't publish my e-mail address on Facebook, for good reasons!
