Thread: Need Pricing Suggestions for Hospital Gig.

Hello Beautiful Bhuzzers,
I have been contacted about doing a performance and workshop at a Health and Wellness day for a large hospital. I'm a bit unsure how to price it though. I was thinking of going with the regular private party rate plus mileage for the area....what do those of you with corporate gig experience think? How do you price these events?

Do you have a usual rate for a performance/lesson package, like the kind you would do at bachelorette parties or showers? I usually charge the same thing whether it's corporate or in a person's home, unless it requires any extra work.

Thanks Laura, I was thinking along the same lines....just didn't want to unknowingly undercut a difference in corporate vs private gigs. I checked Samira S.'s page for pricing, but didn't find a rate for the area where the event will be held.

I did a private performance once for a large hospital in my area and they paid $200 for just the performance. It just depends on the length of the performance and how big the hospital is. I hope that helps a little! Good luck!

FYI... Some of these functions/fairs are supported by grants.

If there is grant money to be spent, they need to spend it! You would proly be happy to help them, and give them their $ worth!

I would go with your regular big party rate, plus costs/milage.

I'm just wondering: I'm assuming that this isn't one of those nursing home/care facilities lec/dem shows that are always priced much lower than the GP party rate. When I have danced in facilities like this (both through agencies and as subs for other dancers) it's always one of those 45 min to 1hr shows and they are priced at about half what the regular party rate is.

How do you know what category this type of event falls into? In my ignorance, would totally have underpriced myself here ...

Ah, No it is a VA hospital, and they are doing the Health and Wellness day as a gift to their employees. The day is filled with fitness classes, massages, food, etc. I made sure to ask many many specific questions about what they are looking for etc. I submitted my price and am waiting to hear back.

So I quoted $275 for a 45 minute wkshop extolling the benefits of bellydance as a way to have fun using muscles we don't normally use...

Got the Gig....did it yesterday with a lively and fun group of doctors, nurses and administrators. They've already invited me back for next year! Thanks for all the advice and help! I love bhuz!
