Thread: Help with performance name please!!

Hi Guys,

I recently got signed up to the taste of cairo agency but there are already 2 Emmas on the site and my new name is to be confirmed.

So can you have a little vote on the following:

Advia - meaning pleasent and gentle
Aminah - Meaning Faithful
Amirah - Princess, Leader
Hessa - Destiny
Kalila - Beloved
Samira - Entertaining
Zafirah - Successful
Zaina - Beautiful

I like Amirah and Zafirah

There are two well-known Zafirahs in the UK already, so I'd suggest going with Amirah! Maybe you could get on to Google and see how popular the other names are.

HOw about having a two name stage name.

Emma El Zafirah
Emma El Sogheir

Just examples, so you can play around with what you like.

I don't like Hessa b/c it makes me think of Hussy for some reason. That may just be me though! LOL.....

Amirah, Samira, Zafirah and Zaina are very common. You might run into the same issue again with those names.

Out of all of those, my favorite is Hessa, and I don't think it's too common either.

As far as I know they are examples of some Sir Names (last names). Sogheir and/or spelling variations means "little or small". Where is Safy?

Amira is a bit generic, it would be good to have a name that is more individual. I like Hessa too. It's easily pronounceable (always my first criterion for dancer names!), mirrors your own name (two syllables, the first one having the same vowel sound as your real name, and the second one being the same as your real name).

Or you could try finding an Arabic name that reflects the same meaning as "Emma". A brief internet search reveals your name means: whole, complete. Another (slightly longer) search came up with Kamila, which means complete, perfect. Also Salima, which means safe from harm; mild, healthy, without defect. Just an idea...

In Egypt, destiny is 'masrir' (mossr-ear).

It could be Shami? I know it is used like'right now'.

2 different baby name sites haha

Just going to go with Emma....will think of an agency name but for normal performing Emma Williams is fine. I feel stupid thinking of a 'performing name' its not me. Im just Emma Williams...no fancy name makes me dance better.
for agency stuff it wont matter what I go by because at events such as Casino or Haflas I will just perform as me.

I am actually using my own one, if you read the thread it was because there was 2 Emmas on the agency which could prove confusing :)
