Wow looks fabulous!! Amazing job. My instant reactions are that I want to see photos of you right away. Maybe even faded behind the title area? Stats are that many potential clients are on your site for less than 5 seconds before they lose interest -they want to see you right off that bat!
Also I think the right-hand side bar is a a bit busy and distracting, could it be narrower? Its really not too bad though, just nit-picking.
I haven't combed through (I should be in bed right now!) but those were my first impressions besides how pro and clean it looks! Oh and I LOVE the color, that is exactly what I was trying for in mine at first, a nice beet magenta. Yum.

Very busy, no headings where my eye expects to see them, has a 'blog' layout which seems less professional than a 'real' website, and no help with how to direct eye movement. I was not tempted to read even the first page.

Sincere apologies if I seem harsh. Not my intention.

I don't like the bloggieness of it either. I've tried to communicate that to the webguy who did it....idk if he'll change it.

Maybe you could try having him at least remove the date headers? They are very fancy and very distracting... the most important info on the page is not the date, but what you are doing, IMO. I assume he's controlling that with a style sheet and simply needs to change a tag?

Then some of the page layout would have a chance to assert itself AND your pretty cranberry background would have more of a chance of asserting itself as a contrast, instead of seeming to bleed into the information pages at many points.

I agree with maurazebra. It does look like a blog. I though at first you had used a wordpress template for this, and I was very impressed yo had managed to make it look this good. That is what I did and I struggled changing the template to get rid of the dates. However, I am surprised a web guy would use a blog template. It looks nice, but I would have though this is an amateur job (like mine) and not someone you hired. I like it but I do think you have to push him a little cause a professional can do better for you.

technically he's not professional yet...still in gd school. but I've asked him to change the layout. thanks for your feedback!
