Thread: Second phone no that forwards - UK? Any experience

Hi

I hesitate to put my mobile number on the internet for privacy and to limit the random spam phone calls etc. Its becoming clear though, that a lot of potential clients like a phone number - I do give it out in my email sig once they have emailed me, but I suspect a lot of people like to phone in the first instance (weirdos!). Also a lot of online business listings require a phone no.

Has anyone (UK) used a special forwarding number like this?

Is it genuine? Is it really free except set up? Are there other companies that do it?

If it were me, I'd just get a cheap phone with a separate simcard/number, purely for business use. I'd then limit the times I switched it on, so I wouldn't be generally contactable on it 24/7.

I think last time I got a new phone they gave me a free PAYG sim so I'll see if I can put that in my old phone!

Hmm, I worry I would just never remember to switch it on! I'm such computer person myself. I'm not sure I'd get that much traffic, its more I don't want my real number out there.
