Thread: Bridal Shower question

I have expirience with parties and bellygrams, but this is my first shower. They are asking for a short performance and short lesson. My question is about music. Classical or pop...I personally prefer the classics, but I feel like the gp responds better to arabic pop music because it sounds some what familiar. What do you think, Bhuzzers?

Pop for the lesson. An easy, steady 4/4 is great for 1st timers

Go with pop. Also remember in this situation you are not a dancer but an entertainer. You are not there to show how great a dancer you are - you are there for the bride and her friends and family. Keep it simple but fun.

i teach a few moves and then a choreography to "raqs leyla" by the brothers beledi. it's got a repetitive verse that repeats 5 times with an improv section in the middle. it's easy, and easy to keep fun ^_^

For Americans I tend to go with pop, or modern style music preferably without words.
