    Wardrobe malfunction =)

I have learned the hard way...ALWAYS REINFORCE ALL HOOKS A GAZILLION TIMES....
Since my hooks (from a newly purchaced/swapped costume that appeared to be fine and held up for several practice runs) pulled right off of my back bra strap in the middle of dancing
It was funny, we laughed it off, and I always bring another costume to a gig. But holy crap. The girls nearly excaped!!!!

    actually let me clarify "funny".
That meant, "we laughed it off". But no, not really funny.

I aways put double hooks in my tops and use double stick tape just to be sure..that way if thers a chance that both hooks give AND the safety pin i use for extra measure..the tape will keep me stuck to the bra or at the very least..provide "pasties" so Im not completely exposed..

I grabbed the front of the bra immediately...my mom said I have cat like reflexes LOL And normally I do use a safety pin, but this time my mom couldn't get one in. (she's my assistant ;) )

Harmoney, I live in dread that the girls will escape, so good "catch"! I saw that happen to one of the girls in our group - she was doing a drum number with lots of chest isolations. Suddenly she had this "look" on her face, and was keeping her elbows strangely close to her body from that point on . After the performance we find out she had a wardrobe malfunction early on in the piece, but at that point - there is no stopping. Job hazard, I suppose. ;)

I always sew a piece of fairly strong elastic to the inside of the back strap (about where it the shoulder strap joins to it). Sew a hook to the loose end of the elastic and an eye inside the bra strap about where the other shoulder strap meets the back strap. Keep the length of the elastic short enough to give a good amount of tension when it's hooked up. If you hook yourself into the extra elastic strap first, it will be completely hidden by the back strap, but if the hooks should give way you've got an inner safety net to preserve your modesty.

I always add some extra little snaps, but this is a great idea :)

Very smart! I bet it's a bonus in terms of getting dressed too. Since I sew my halters at the top, I have to clasp the bra behind my back. Sometimes sequins and things make it so hard to find the right spot, but if you're not fighting to hold it on at the time, I bet it's much easier.

I use diaper pins always because they lock shut.

No matter how much I reinforce, I still use pins anyway. You can never be too careful.

    Pins are our friends!
