Re: Latest Zaghareet - contraversial Article on Restaurant Dancers
I think a postal worker reads my zaghareet, too! I only just got mine yesterday and the sticker was opened.

Re: Latest Zaghareet - contraversial Article on Restaurant Dancers
This whole conversation about hourly wages reminds me of a good-natured-but-nevertheless-annoying little skirmish I got into with my mother a few weeks ago:
Me: It's so cool to see the card dealers at Mohegan Sun (a local casino) getting together and unionizing for fair wages instead of slitting each other's throats over who can do the job for cheaper like us bellydancers do! That's it: I'm starting a bellydance union!
Mom: But you get $250 to dance for 15 minutes....that's like, $1000 an hour! You shouldn't complain about $1,000 an hour: not even doctors in the ER make that much!
Me: *rolls eyes* But Mom....bellydance is not an hourly job, so it's a different payscale altogether. And why single out BDers? There are plenty of people who make more than doctors in the ER.
Mom: I think you take this a little bit too seriously....
Me: I take it seriously because most CLOWNS have a higher rate for private gigs than bellydancers.
Mom: But clowns have to go to CLOWN SCHOOL!

This is totally off topic, but I get such a kick out of your name "Satin Worship" for two reasons: 1) Even as a little girl I would always touch the satin at the fabric store because it was so soft! 2)Funny story - a friend of mine saw graffiti at a bus stop that she guesses was meant to say "Satan Rules!!!", but said, "Satin Rules!!!!!"
Okay, back to topic. Clowns who belly dance . . . or belly dancers who clown . . .

Re: Latest Zaghareet - contraversial Article on Restaurant Dancers
hahahahaha thanks! Glad you get a kick out of it. When I was a fashion design major for all of two semesters, my friends and I would always say things like "HAIL SATIN, DARK LORD OF THE TEXTILE WORLD!!!" and wonder why we were the black sheep of the sewing lab. I also named my seam ripper Lombardo. Everybody's a little mental in college. I have no excuse now
Satin is a truly wonderful fabric and I agree wholeheartedly with whoever graffiti'd that bus stop ..l;, ..l;, ..l;, Although I'm not sure that's what they had in mind....
Back on track, you really have to be of Satin-ic persuasion to fuse clowing with bellydancing.....
