Thread: Price suggestions for teaching at a senior center

There's a possibility I may do a weekly class at a local NYC senior center. The classes would be for residents of the home, so it's not a situation where students are charged specifically for the class.

I know that events for senior homes are generally discounted, but I'm not sure how to price out what could be a recurring gig for this kind of place. For context, it's not a high-end home, but one that is partially funded by the city and doesn't charge fees to its seniors. Suggestions?

Can you find out if other people are offering classes at that facility, and what the going rate is? I would think it would be an hourly rate.

I am the only paid instructor at the senior center I teach at. I get paid my full rate.

The city pays everyone else who works there a reasonable amount. Unless this is a special charity for you, I wouldn't discount your rate.
