Belly Dancing Lawyer Networking
Wondering how many other fellow attorney belly dancers there are. I'd love to connect and chat about how you integrate your legal career with dancing (e.g. do you service the dancing community as well? What issues have you run across? Or do you keep the two worlds far apart?). I'm a new attorney and I have wild ideas running through my head....

I'm an attorney but I went to law school after my dance career was winding up, so they have always been separate to me. But if I ever did connect the two I think it would probably be in the area of copyright law as copyrights is such an issue with music nowadays.

Not an attorney, but CPA. I keep everything separate, though sometimes people still recognize me.

Re: Belly Dancing Lawyer Networking
I'm a library director at a top 100 firm - and I keep my dancing and my career completely separate, per my firm's wishes.
I think it depends on the size of your firm and your firm's culture as to whether you are "out" as a belly dancer, other law librarians and attorneys that I know all have different experiences.
I don't know any belly dance attorneys who also provide services to dancers, though - it would be helpful for copyright, reviewing contracts, and maybe taking actions against vendors (Audrena comes to mind).

Re: Belly Dancing Lawyer Networking
I am an attorney but currently working in academia and not practicing.
My two careers are seperate in as much as my legal practice has nothing to do with my dance and vice versa. But everyone in both fields knows about the other - all my "day job" colleagues know I am a bellydancer, and all my dance friends know I'm a lawyer. That's about the only interaction those two sides of my life have, though.
