Share your progress from this year and your plan for 2012

Interesting year for Home - Divine Dancing Silks and Island Wear . Started a registered nurse job doing something I've never done before, it took me three months of 60 hour work weeks but I learned how to do the job quickly and efficiently while still maintaining part time dyeing of silks. Boss is happy so I'm fortunate to have a steady job to maintain the steep cost of living in Hawaii and also have the capital leverage to invest in akai.

Plan for 2012: (or resolutions)

1) Been decreasing creation and sales so that I could take the time to look at the overall picture ..it's fun but exhausting to produce, list, email, and handle all business operations. Decrease in production will be temporary. Sometimes one must step off the spinning wheel.

2) In process now of hiring pt staff..bookkeeper, ebay listing assistant, I even hired a virtual assistant to help organize my week into nurse appointments, meetings, Zack's schedule, and other commitments; she even budgeted time for surf. Organization and delegation are everything. Will also be training someone to handle emails so that I can be more available to oversee. That alone will save 4 hours a day.

3) Putting more focus on keeping an easy to use stocked store and less on wholesale'ing out. Re-structuring so that resellers can make money on akai products but that a stocked store is the priority.

4) As if hands aren't already full with silk stuff, am finally diving into more casual dress rayon clothing..I'm working with a good friend combining designs for drape-y comfortable attractive clothing for casual or office dress. This is really exciting. Those who have seen the colorful jackets I posted on facebook know what's coming.

I have several, but I mostly want to have the most successful Las Vegas Bellydance Intensive ever because it's our 10th Anniversary. :)
