Persian Wedding Advice
I have a Persian wedding coming up soon and I haven't worked with this community much.
They have requested standard Arabic music and or Bandari but I'm just kinda looking for any advice in terms of audience participation, music selections that are popular choices, tipping styles, etc in reference to Persians :)
Thanks in advance :)Amanda Rose

Re: Persian Wedding Advice
I find (in my family at least) they really enjoy Aziza (I think my aunt mentioned Jamileh danced toit a lot) and and lively/fun song that lets you be cute and coquettish ('naz' in farsi) they will really enjoy. My friend did her regular gig at a persian restaurant and used hossam ramzy's Aziza, Ah wi noos (and really played it up), Linda Linda, a drum solo and ended with bandari to get the audience to get up and dance.

Re: Persian Wedding Advice
The advice I got when I was exactly in your position was Persians like upbeat songs. So for a recent wedding I did I opened with Issam Houshan's "The 8th Gate", it is modern and has a lot of energy, then I did a sword number (they specifically requested sword) to Kairo by Night's "Desert Orchid" and Hossam Ramzy's "Khatwet Serena" as my drum solo, then I filled the rest of the set out with Persian popular love (or party) songs. Here are some of the songs that others recommended to me that I really liked:
Parishoon by Pouya
To Mahshari by Omid
Jooni Joonom by Leila Forouhar
Gole Pooneh by Andy
Others that I was considering:
Beni Beni or Arezou by Niyaz
Raghse Arousi - Iranian Traditional
Mobarak Baad
Aroosi by Leila Forouhar
Baba Karam by Nahid or by Mehrdad Asemani
Aroose Arezouham by Pouya
Arousiye Irani by Mehrdad Asemani
Shiraz by Bijan Mortazavi
Ey Maah Bebin by Bijan Mortazavi
Naz Aroos
Chai Chai by Kouros
Dokharah Balla by Andy
Areh Areh by Andy
Ghanari Joon by Sheila
Aroos Khalij by Sheila
Jaane Maryam by Mohammad Nouri or Lily Afshar
Aroosi by Nariman
Then I watched a lot of Jamileh to get me in the right groove before I went:
