    Preferred studio insurance vendor?

I went through ACE for my independent contractor/Instructor insurance, I don't think they do full studio rates.
I know you need more coverage as a studio owner.
There are so many vendors out there.
Do any of you have a favorite?

    Re: Preferred studio insurance vendor?

Let's see.. I started out with the insurance through ACE (was that FitnessPak?) and then I had Venbrook. One of them.. Venbrook, I think... actually included a studio up to 1000 feet. But that was only liability -- professional liability, I was never clear whether it even covered slips & falls, etc and I'm fairly positive I'd be screwed if someone vandalized the place, stole my purse from it, etc. All I was ever sure I was covered for was if someone was injured during my class.

I have insurance now through my State Farm rep. It's not terribly cheap, but considering I have two studios it's not exhorbitant either. And I feel confident that my agent would actually be there to answer my questions & help me if I were sued or robbed or hit by lightning. I never felt that way about my previous carriers.

One of my students appears to have had her phone stolen from inside the studio just last night (by a random person who walked in the front door during class). That's exactly the sort of thing State Farm would probably take care of that professional liability won't.

Hmm good call on the state farm, I never did ask my local guy if they offer that.
They don't have private instructor ins. so I just figured they didn't do that either.

K&K insurance has a studio option. Mine is about $1100 a year.

I saw K&K are they national. Don't they base their price on student numbers? Would studios just estimate the numbers? Seems like it would fluctuate.
