    Fun with Audience Members

I was wondering what kind of fun tricks everyone does with audience members

    Re: Fun with Audience Members

Mine are pretty standard, I think.

    1) Come up behind someone (usually a husband who's ignoring me, usually with the wife's non-verbal encouragement) and place my sword on his head. I hold it on for him and pose for photos.

    2) When someone really takes off dancing with me, I sit down in their chair and clap for them.

    3) I love to dance right AT people who aren't paying attention - you know, arm extended toward them, full-on-gaze -- until they finally look up and see me. Makes everyone laugh.

    4) Lord help the person who walks right across my staging area during my show. I'll follow behind them like a mime, or get in front of them and deliberately block their way...

    5) The restaurant where I used to dance was on a fairly busy pedestrian street, and sometimes clumps of people would stop and stare in the window. I'd usually come right over to the window & mess with them, encouraging them to come in and PAY the cover... always in a fun, lighthearted way.

I LOVE to clown around with a good audience, so most of what I do is spontaneous & whatever-strikes-me at the moment.

Can't wait to read the rest of this thread and get some tips!

If someone in the audience has a birthday (or some other "guest of honor" occasion) and is there with a bunch of people, drag EVERYONE (men included) from the table out to the dance floor. Put a chair in the center for the Guest of Honor, and lead a debke line around him/her. If you don't know how to debke, you can lead them in a simple belly dance traveling step such as step-hiplift in a circle that rotates with the Guest of Honor at the axis of the "wheel".

I used to get the birthday boy up to dance and would wrap a veil around his head like a turban. Voila...instant Sultan. hahahahah.

LOL....yeah, I basically do all of the above (never tried the sword on someone's head trick, though. I like it!)
