How to get started teaching in a new area

Hey all! I've recently moved from the MidWest to the San Diego area and would like to get started teaching again. I taught for 7 years in Kansas and am actually enjoying taking classes out here, but I miss teaching and would like a little income to offset what I'm spending. Let me add that I live way out in the burbs and travel in quite a ways to take classes. There isn't really any bellydance out in my neck of the woods. So I don't think I'll be encroaching on anyone's territory.
Does anyone have any recommendations for approaching places like dance studios? I have my resume all together and my website all up-to-date. When I taught in Kansas, I sort of took over an existing teachers business and didn't have to start from scratch!
Thank you so much for your help!

I teach through a Parks and Recreation Dept., which I like because they handle most of the promotion/advertising; give me a generous percentage of the class fees; take care of all the building maintenanc and supply a boom box for class, and they make the classes very affordable for students.

Downsides are that the floors are not sprung wood, but linoleum over concrete (I wear ballet slippers and thick socks to protect my joints), and there is a lot of turnover in the classes, as many people are trying it out just for fun.

But it might be a good way to get started.

I used to work for something similar to a Parks & Rec thing and loved it! I've emailed the local one here, but no response. :(

Since your email was not answered it might help to actually stop by the Parks & Rec and introduce yourself. The person you actually need to speak with might not be there so it might require a second trip but you did mention it is local. Best of luck.
