Thread: First Cards!

Now that I have figured out how to order affordable cards here in Japan ( and have them delivered to my house) I've got my fine art cards and...this Friday, my dance cards should be showing up.

I'm changing jobs this April and it will probably involve a paycut, so it's time to get a little more serious about marketing myself for extra income.

The images are from my first photoshoot ever, back in February, and the graphic design attempts are mine (with the feedback of blog readers)

I have so much unstructured downtime at work, that's the key. It was designed when I realized things would be slow at work and brought in my iBook.

Classes haven't started up for me yet so I scampered home today and brought back comissions to hand stitch today.

Those are wonderful. Excellent job! Can't tell you how many times I see things (cards, flyers, brochures, posters) where there are multiple (sometimes too numerous to count) design flaws. It's nice to see something well put together. Not a professional designer myself (nor had any formal training), but I hate seeing horrid use of white space (as in not having any) and all the attempts at fancy fonts that leave the information difficult (or impossible) to read. (Can you tell that this is one of my "buttons"?) ..g.: The fonts you chose, while decorative, are still quite readable. Kudos on a *very* fine job on these cards.

Photoshop elements 3 I think.

I hunted around a while for the font on the front, found two shareware fonts that worked and put them together (the O frome one the zma from the other) and clipped some parts to make the font more readable.

I love that the two looks and moods are so different. You're showing great range and they haven't even seen you move yet!
