Jes, you might want to think twice about coming to Costa Rica, Yemaya's going to sell some of her costumes off. ..l;,

Re: how much are you REALLY spending on costumes
My rationalization is that as a more tribal-inclined dancer, I can and do wear many pieces mundanely, from skirts over jewelry to bindis. In fact, did that yesterday, when we had friends over for dinner; some pieces like my Turkuman coat have been used more often as street wear. I also buy costuming pieces with the explicit intention to decorate the house.

Re: how much are you REALLY spending on costumes
Much too much. Just ordered two and bought one off the rack, so just I spent 860 Euro in costumes. But
A) I hardly fit into any of my costumes after pregancy so I need something to wear while getting my sizes back and
B) I just sold 3 costumes to buy 3 costumes

Re: how much are you REALLY spending on costumes
me... not enough! as I only dance at home I don't really have an excuse to buy costumes!
funnily enough my fave outfit for dancing is a lingerie piece from Cairo in a bellydance style. it's sooo comfortable and looks pretty fab.. slip on slip off.

Re: how much are you REALLY spending on costumes
Oh wow. I ordered 7 Bellas in 2007 and if each ones comes to about $850-$900 after shipping fees and wire transfer fees, I paid at least 6k in costuming last year. But again, this doesn't include how much I recycled that costuming money when I sold some Bellas.
