this i agree with most of all! i would probably have tried to encourage this reaction.

i agree with everyone you dont own a refund to the customer or a discount or anything. but my gut feeling (cause i'd like to feel good about me...) is that i'd like to do/give something anyway. like a refund, or a discount, or something.

and yes, taking the guests out to the lobby would have been a great idea too! this is one of the reasons i try to bring my portable boombox (runs n batteries as well if need be) everywhere. it makes me/the dancing/the music/the party mobile and can solve many situations.

It's just good business practice to work with customers when something is not the fault of either of you.

    My 2 cents. :)

Oh Lily, I'm sorry. Thats a lot like my recent gig at Saint. I ended up complaining to the management of the club. Since this guy is the manager, I would suggest giving him a call. Explain that you are a very well known performer in the area and that his actions have potentially hurt your reputation. You can then "suggest" that if he wants to protect his own reputation (not a threat but Im sure he lost the whole party as potential customers) he should offer her a refund of what she paid you.

On the flip side, you fulfilled your obligation. I wouldn't give her a refund but since she has proven herself to be a repeat customer a discount on a future show isn't a bad idea at all.

    XOXO

It is based on a cultural dance, performed among family and friends. Whatever dirty idea you have in YOUR mind is entirely inaccurate.
