Thread: Is it just me or does this sound fishy?

Unique Professional Entertainers Needed

We will be conducting several upscale events in local Night Clubs over the next few months. I am in need of Unique entertainment that can work in a small space.
2 sets per event total, 3-5 minutes each ( over a 2 hour time period ).
Types of acts-
* Belly dancers
* Burlesque dancers
* Contortionists
* Poi Performers
* Illusionists ( Sorry no reg magicians )
These are a few examples, please let me know if you do something else unique !
Pay rate is $350-$400 per event.

No mention of the company putting it together or the events or the clubs. What is the point of something like this? Even if someone responds, what do they really want?

Smells of Tuna to me. I don't ever trust anyone when they don't explain their reason, company, venue etc.......

Sounds a bit shady to me - especially since there's no company name/venue.

Interesting. Where did you stumble across this ad?

My female intuition and $50 says this is a bogus deal. Even if this ad is totally legit, it does sound rather dodgy. As everybody previously had mentioned, the lack of specific information sends red flags in every direction. I'd want to know the name of the agency or agent, the venue and specifically what type of "upscale" events they're looking to hire entertainers for. True, they may do well paying corporate and promotional events....or they may just want somebody to strip for some high-profile CEO's bachelor party.

After all, there are plenty of titty bars that market themselves as "classy" or "high end" ..c::
